Transfer your digitized files to an External USB Hard Drive

We can transfer your media directly to an external hard drive. By default we provide AVI files to the hard drive (other formats are available for an additional charge). We offer the ability to purchase a hard drive from us (includes free formatting and data transfer). You also have the option of providing your own hard drive for a fee of $20 which covers formatting for PC or Mac and data transfer.

External hard drive with RAID protection

Here at the FTC we prefer to use RAID 1 formatted hard drives. RAID 1 mirrors the contents of each hard disk, creating a reliable archive backup to achieve recoverability from hard-disk crashes. Even if one of the disks is damaged, your data is safe on the second disk and may be recovered. We recommend you use this option.

Note: 320 GB RAID hard drives are not currently available.

Hard drive without RAID protection

Your hard disc will work perfectly, but should anything unexpected happen (power surge, incorrect removal of hard drive, physical damage, etc.) — data reliability is far from 100%.
